How It Works
How Magical Mail Quests Works
A complete year of personalised fantasy letters, delivered to your child by post — one per month, addressed to them by name, carrying a story they are at the centre of. Here is exactly what happens from the moment you order.
Step One — You Choose a World
Three complete worlds are available, each with its own story, characters, and year-long arc. Choose the one that suits your child's age, interests, and imagination.
Kingdom of Alderwyn
Ages 5–12. A squire's journey to knighthood — through quests, dragons, and the courage to do what's right.
Whispering Glades
Ages 4–11. A young fairy called to restore a fading magical forest — through wonder, kindness, and noticing the world.
The Arcane Isles
Ages 6–13. An acceptance letter to a hidden school of magic — with real ciphers, puzzles, and arcane mysteries every month.
Step Two — You Tell Us About Your Child
At checkout you'll provide three things: your child's first name, their birth month, and which theme you've chosen. That's all we need. Every letter will be written to them specifically — their name appears throughout, and their birthday month triggers a special 13th letter unique to them.
Gift orders are always welcome. Simply enter the recipient child's details at checkout and add a gift note — we'll include it in the first letter. No gift-wrapping needed: the envelope itself is the occasion.
Step Three — The First Letter Arrives
Within 5–7 days of your order, the first letter ships. It arrives in an envelope addressed to your child by name — real postage, real paper, real ink. Inside: the opening chapter of their story, their first quest, and something extra.
Month 1 always includes the cloth world map — a fabric map of their chosen world, printed in warm illustrated detail. It is, for most children, the moment the whole thing becomes real.
Step Four — Letters Arrive Monthly
From that point, letters arrive once a month on the same schedule. Each one advances a continuous story your child has been following — picking up exactly where the last one left off, referencing things that happened in earlier letters, building toward an ending they'll remember.
Certain months bring something physical alongside the letter. Here is the full year:
The Beginning 🗺️ Cloth World Map
The opening letter and summons — plus a fabric world map of your child's chosen realm. The wow moment that sets the tone for the whole year.
First Character Encounter 🃏 Character Card
The story deepens and the first collectible character card arrives — premium card stock, full illustrated portrait, flavour text from the letters.
The World Expands
New characters, new locations, new challenges. The story is building.
A New Ally 🃏 Character Card
A second character card — someone your child has been reading about for three months and finally holds in their hands.
Midpoint 🔖 Keepsake Bookmark
A beautifully illustrated metal bookmark — a quote from the world on one side, artwork on the other. Built to last as long as the books they'll read.
The Story Turns
Something changes in the world. The consequences of earlier choices begin to matter.
A Surprising Letter 🃏 Character Card
This month's letter often comes from an unexpected character. A third card arrives.
The Hard Month
Every story has a difficult chapter. This month's letter deals with something real — forgiveness, fear, betrayal, or loss. The quest reflects it.
Turning Point 🃏 Character Card
The story pivots toward its conclusion. Card number four — a character who has been present all year, now fully realised.
They Know the World Now ✨ Sticker Sheet
A full die-cut glossy sticker sheet — characters, crests, creatures, and symbols. By Month 10 your child knows exactly who every sticker belongs to.
The Final Piece 🃏 Character Card
The last character card completes the set. The story is almost done.
The Ending
The conclusion of the year's story. The quest completes. The letter is the gift.
The Birthday Letter ✦ Arrives in Their Birth Month
A 13th letter — separate from the monthly sequence — arrives in your child's birth month. It is written specifically for them, grants them a title, name, or honour unique to their world, and requires no quest. It is simply a celebration of who they are.
Step Five — Every Letter Includes a Real Quest
Every monthly letter contains a quest that happens in the real world. Not a worksheet. Not a homework task. A genuine good deed — something your child actually does, for real people, in their real life. The story frames it as something the world needs from them specifically.
Across the year, the twelve quests cover:
