By Order of the Royal Court — Kingdom of Alderwyn
A Letter to Our Newest Squire
Greetings, brave young soul. Word has reached the castle that you are of strong heart and keen mind — precisely the qualities King Edric seeks in those who would take the Squire's Oath this season.
The Kingdom of Alderwyn has stood for three hundred years, its banners red and gold, its people proud and free. But shadows stir at the borders. The Thornwood Marshes grow darker each harvest, and old Sir Cael — our finest knight — has not returned from his patrol in seven days.
You have been chosen. Your first quest is enclosed on the parchment below. Complete it truly and faithfully, for the Kingdom is watching — and your answer will shape everything that comes next...

More Than a Letter.
A Better Kind of Magic.
In a world of screens and notifications, something arrives in the post — addressed to your child, by name, from another world entirely. No batteries required.
100% Screen-Free
Real paper. Real ink. Real post. Every letter is a physical object your child holds in their hands — no app, no device, no login. Just imagination and a story that belongs entirely to them.
Real Good Deeds — Every Month
Every letter includes a quest that happens in the real world: a genuine act of kindness, a brave conversation, a moment of patience. The story rewards good character — because the story is really about them becoming it.
Gets Kids Reading — Genuinely
Children who won't sit still for a school book will read the same letter four times if it's addressed to them. The personalisation changes everything. These are the letters kids read by torchlight under the covers.
Values That Actually Stick
Kindness. Bravery. Forgiveness. Honesty. Generosity. Each month a different virtue is woven into the story — not as a lesson, but as the reason the world needs your child specifically. Children remember what they feel, not what they're told.
The Magic of the Post
There is something irreplaceable about a letter with your child's name on it — something that no notification, no email, no digital reward will ever replicate. Getting post is an event. These letters make it a monthly celebration.
A Full Year of Anticipation
Thirteen letters over twelve months — each one advancing a continuous story your child cares about. Waiting for the next letter becomes part of the magic. So does the moment it finally arrives.
THE TWELVE QUESTS COVER
One real-world quest per letter. Each one is a genuine good deed — not a worksheet.
What Parents Are Saying
"My son runs to the mailbox every month now. He has never been more excited about anything. The kindness quest from Letter 2 — he did it without telling us. We only found out from the neighbour he helped."
"We've tried everything to get her off screens. These letters changed everything — she reads them herself, re-reads them, and keeps them in a special box. No device needed. No battles needed."
"The birthday letter made him cry happy tears. But honestly? The forgiveness quest in Month 8 started a conversation between us that I didn't know we needed. These letters do things I couldn't do as a parent alone."
Before You Enter the Kingdom
The Knight letters are written for children aged 5 to 12. Younger children will love having letters read to them and taking part in simpler quest tasks, while older children can read and engage independently. The language and quests are designed to grow with the child across the year.
No subscription at all. It's a flat one-time payment for all 13 letters (12 monthly + 1 birthday). Your letters ship on a set monthly schedule from the date you purchase. No recurring charges, no cancellation needed.
After purchase, you provide your child's name and birthday month. The letters are addressed to them by name throughout, and the birthday month letter is crafted specifically around that special occasion. The story refers to your child as the squire/hero at all times.
Absolutely — it makes a wonderful gift. You can purchase using your own details and provide the recipient's name, birthday, and mailing address. We can also include a gift note in the first letter if you'd like.
Currently shipping within the United States. International shipping is something we're working toward — if you're outside the US, reach out and we'll do our best to work something out for you.
Both themes are actively in development. We'll announce them to our Kingdom families first. If you purchase the Knight theme now, you'll be first in line when the new realms open their gates.
Completely. Every letter is a physical object — printed on paper, stuffed in an envelope, sent by post. There is no app, no website login, no QR code to scan. Your child holds it in their hands, reads it, keeps it. Many children create dedicated boxes or folders for their growing collection.
Each month's quest focuses on a different real-world virtue: kindness, bravery, reading and learning, gratitude, teaching others, standing up for what's right, forgiveness, patience, generosity, encouragement, honesty, and personal values. The quests are genuine good deeds — things your child actually does in the real world, not worksheets or exercises. The story frames each virtue as something the world genuinely needs from them specifically.
This is one of the most common things parents tell us after they start. Children who resist reading at school will read the same letter multiple times if it has their name in it and is addressed directly to them. The personalisation changes the relationship entirely — it's not a book, it's correspondence. For younger children, reading the letter together as a family ritual works beautifully too.
The Kingdom Awaits
The first letter is already written. The quests are ready. All that's missing is your child's name on the squire's roll.
